In the third installment of 'A Monument for (after) Play' Francis Patrick Brady will take you on a performative guided tour of this once great monument for play. The tour will tell the stories of the monument's previous moments of joy and play; about how it all began as a series of playful happenings and turned into stoney silence. We will trace its beginnings from a game played on pieces of paper in a bar, to a cut-out card monument in an artist-run zine, to a playful game in a regional  konsthall and now, here, displayed for all to see, a stone's throw from Malmö Castle, reminiscing the moment after play.

Francis Patrick Brady is an artist born i Toronto, Canada, now based in Malmö Sweden. He graduated from the MFA Critical & Pedagogical Studies at Konsthögskola Malmö in 2017. Francis Patrick Brady uses play and participation as strategies for creating installation, performance and workshops that challenge the existing rules and structures of our everyday reality. Often his art projects build an alternative world to our own, a satirical blending of the semi-fictional with the semi-believable, between comedy and tragedy, agency and determinism, digital and the post-digital; they are made up from awide variety of handmade objects, sewn fabric patchwork clothes, playing cards, soundscapes, text, collage etc.
