FLOCK is an artist-run platform and a network for participatory art in the Nordic region. FLOCK conducts a program of workshops, exhibitions, talks and A-I-R. The initiators and project managers for FLOCK are the artists Nina Jensen and Louise Johansson Waite.
THE PRODUCTION PLATFORM
FLOCK wants to highlight participatory art as an important part of contemporary art. We want to produce exhibitions that explore the boundaries of participatory art and how working conditions and the art experience can be stretched and explored together with artists, art institutions and different audiences. We want to show that the art form has a wide range of expressions, a wide audience in both children and adults and possesses opportunities for experimentation, absurdity, collaborations, playfulness and seriousness, all with an artistic quality.
THE NETWORK
The network is created to fortify artists with a participatory practice through collaborations, exchange of experiences and by conducting a critical discussion about the art form and the artists' working conditions. If you have questions or are interested in joining the network, email us at info@flockprojects.se
In addition to individual artists, the network also includes the organisations Velferden Sokndals Scene for Contemporary Art (NO), Konstfrämjandet Skåne (SE), PATSASTELLAAN - Parties for Public Sculptures (FI), PUBLICS (FI).
PROGRAM
As part of the platforms ongoing work FLOCK is conducting interviews with artists working within the field, some of which are held in English. Currently there are interviews in English by James Prevett, Lucey Smalley and Francis Patrick Brady. Parts of the program planned for the autumn will also be held in English. Currently released is the digital workshop The Fabled AFR Machine or How to Leave Reality IRL by Francis Patrick Brady which will happen on the 29th of October.
